Our Bylaws

Article 7 - Chapter Officers and Executive Committee:

Section 1 - Nominating Committee:

The Nominating Committee shall consist of not less than three chapter members, in good standing, elected by the chapter membership not less than 30 days prior to the scheduled election of officers. This committee will nominate all chapter officers, a National Director, an Alternate National Director, board of directors, and a nominating committee.  Election of an individual to the Nominating Committee shall not prohibit such person, or any other eligible member, from being nominated for any available office.  All nominees must indicate clear acceptance to serve if elected.  The Nominating Committee shall further function, as required, to fill vacancies which may occur in elected chapter offices.  Voting may be by mail ballot.

Section 2 - Definition of Officers:

The chapter officers shall consist of an elected president, one or more vice presidents, secretary and treasurer. The office of secretary and treasurer may be combined.

The duties of the elected officers shall be as defined in the national bylaws, and in particular, those portions relating to chapter operation, and such other not inconsistent duties as defined in the chapter bylaws

The date and results of the election of chapter officers shall be promptly reported in writing to the national headquarters

Section 3 - Duration of Term

The terms of the chapter officers, except for National Director and Alternate National Director, shall begin fourteen days after their election, and be for approximately two years.  The term of the National Director and Alternate National Director shall be for two years and shall begin fourteen days after receipt by the national headquarters of notification furnished by the chapter secretary of such election.  There shall be no limit to the number of terms a National Director, Alternate National Director or officers may serve.
