President Message
April 2014

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long and cold winter up here in the Northeast but all reports from down South are not a heck (not Bob) of a lot better. Things are looking up and its time to get out and brush off the cobwebs! As you may have heard there has been a shakeup of the Northeast Area Officer Board after elections last Fall. Our newly elected NEA President, Tom Ziobrowski is doing an outstanding job promoting the entire Northeast Area. An initial business meeting of your newly elected NEA Board was held in Lake George, NY early last October. Since that time planning and organizing for this years NEA rally in Essex Junction has been going on full steam ahead. As your newly elected Senior VP/Northeast Area I have been very busy working alongside of Tom and we will be making our second trip up to Essex this year the weekend of April 12th. The weekend will include further negotiations and meetings with potential vendors.

On a positive note several new Vendors have been already added, the AMTRACK railroad crossing safety program will be presented and entertainment will be top notch! Opening evening entertainment will feature the 10 piece group "Chicago total Access", their music dedicated to the American rock band "CHICAGO". Our Chapter volunteer effort this year will again be the blood drive. After a three year absence Dave Carmichael, American Red Cross, is very happy to have us back! Please make sure to register for the NEA "Fiesta on Wheels" rally in Essex Junction as early as possible, let either Charlie or myself know if you will be coming in as a Volunteer. We will be looking for a pre-rally meeting place and will advise those listed on our volunteer roster. We should have an update and info to pass on at our Greenfield rally. I also would like to mention that our own Bob Heck has been elected President of the Yankee Doodle Dandies, Chapter of the Maestros and will head up the entertainment that they present in Essex. Congratulations Bob!

As Charlie has mentioned in his message this is our Chapter Officer election year, we need members to step up and run for Office. I will not be seeking re-election as your Chapter President due to my NEA responsibilities. Please consider this service so that our FMCA Chapter continues to grow and stay healthy.

Like many of you Lucille and I have had our share of medical issues over the Fall and Winter months. Lucille was hospitalized for a short period last February and is still undergoing testing procedures. Hopefully all will be well and on track for our rally events this summer. Our first step forward this year will again be in Greenfield at the Good Sam Rally, please be sure to sign up as we will be sponsoring the blood drive effort.

Leo has been doing a great job with our website, please be sure to check it out for the latest news and updates regarding our schedule of events. Rumor out there is that we could be having a rally at the Bradley Air museum sometime in June and of course Charlie and Anne have already locked in a September rally at the Seaport RV Resort and Campground in Mystic, Conn.
